Emily takes the guesswork out of having to meditate–we can all agree that’s one of the hardest parts–carving time out of your day, deciding what meditation to listen to, getting physically comfortable, and most of all knowing whether you are doing it right. There is no one way to meditate, and an experienced guide who senses when you’ve lost focus and helps design a meditation program unique to your needs and situation is truly divine.
You will sit or recline–this could be in a comfortable chair or on a yoga mat. Emily uses bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, and eye pillows to help you get physically comfortable, before she leads you on a custom guided meditation for 10-20 minutes. In each hour-long session, you will complete an intake form and discuss your needs and wishes with Emily. Then, she may lead you through a brief and basic yoga asana lesson to warm up your body to sit or recline comfortably, and then she caters the style of guided meditation to what you need on that given day. For repeat clients or at an additional cost, Emily provides an audio recording of the custom meditation. Sessions can be done remotely, in your home, or in studio.
When Emily leads you through a custom meditation designed to help with your specific circumstances that uses your favorite imagery (favorite scent, season, color, childhood memory), it brings you into a state of pleasant tranquility. Emily can’t wait for the day when meditation will be as common as getting a massage, spa treatment, or acupuncture! It’s heaven. She is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor in Philadelphia with formal training in mantra-based meditation, pre- and post-natal yoga, and trauma-sensitive instruction. She teaches weekly classes of Hatha, Meditation, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin, Prenatal and Chair Yoga.
