Jane Butler has devoted herself to improving the experience of aging in place for seniors. She had witnessed the lack of home care options her own elderly aunts had experienced when she was growing up. “I have wanted to change that for our senior population ever since” says Butler.
Her Narberth office has been the recipient of many awards including Franchise of the Year and The Award for Excellence. Butler attributes the success of her company to a combination of upholding the company’s Mission at the forefront of everything they do, selecting and retaining only the very best caregivers in the industry, and aiming to always exceed the expectations of both customers and employees.
All employees of Accessible know the company’s mission is to provide reliable, highly skilled, and compassionate care to the families they serve so they can have peace of mind and enjoy their lives.
To fulfill this mission, Jane personally meets every client in order to match them up with the best caregiver for them. She also interviews every new hire. “I look for compassion in their eyes” says Butler. The company’s new hire orientation class takes all new hires through a “compassion exercise” which takes the participants through a vivid and interactive simulation of restrictions and losses the elderly face. The exercise is so powerful that even many of the experienced caregivers have claimed they felt more connected to the experience of what an elderly person must face on a daily basis.
Families reach out to Accessible Home Health Care when a loved one recently stops driving, has fallen in the home, or is showing some signs of Dementia. Others may no longer be willing or able to perform light housekeeping duties or prepare meals due to decreased mobility and strength. “Many of our clients are still very much independent and our service allows them to stay that way” says Butler. Services are customizable as each client is unique. Jane comes out to assess each family dynamic and makes recommendations based on her experience. She is very sympathetic to the stress families undergo when faced with this new challenge.
